Jeffrey Panton claims 9th win of Rally Jamaica title
The team of Jeffrey Panton and Michael Fennell Jr walked away with the title of Rally Jamaica champion following a gruelling 2 days of stages on November 28-29, 2015.
Panton took the lead of the event from the get go and won the event with a resounding 2 mins 40 seconds lead ahead of the French team of Simon Jean-Joseph and Jack Boyere in the John Powell loan Ford Fiesta R5.
The event started off on Friday November 27,2015 with the official opening and parc expose held at 100 Hope Road, Kingston 6. 26 teams took the ceremonial start as the team of Roan Jones and Terry Hamlton withdrew their entry early Friday morning due to mechanical challenges which would see them not being ready to be at the start line.
All competition cars were out in their livery and on display for patrons to view, minus the cars of Francisco Pancho Name of Mexico and young Nicholas Barnes who were both still having mechanical matters addressed.
Saturday morning saw 25 cars checking into MTC to tackle the 12 stages slated for the day. at the end of the day 21 cars remained in the event. On day 2 SUndayNovember 29, 23 cars restarted but at the end of the day only 17 teams completed the event.
